Ulster Club Championships Kick Off this weekend

The NWP Recycling Ulster Camogie Club Championships kick off this weekend with Senior C and Bridie McMenamin Shield games being played.

Last years defeated Senior C Runners Up Crosserlough of Cavan will hope to go one step further as Cushendall pipped them in a tough battle in Killeavy. Crosserlough face Tyrone side Doiretreasc in the first round. Also in action this weekend are Derry side Dungiven and Ballygalget of the Ards Peninsula. Armagh side Derrynoose received a bye into the Semi-Final and will face the winners of Crosserlough v Doiretreasc. The winners of the Dungiven v Ballygalget will face the winners of the Antrim Intermediate Championship which is being contested this weekend also and see’s Loughgiel and Portglenone’s second string facing each other.

The Bridie McMenamin Shield Quarter Finals also take place with Armoy of Antrim facing Eire Og of Tyrone in the first game. Mayobridge of Down will host Mullaghbawn of Armagh in the second Quarter-Final. Laragh of Cavan will host their Monaghan rivals Castleblayney. Derry City club Na Magha were the recipients of the bye to the Semi-Final. The 2011 Bridie McMenamin Shield was won by Castletara of Cavan
