Eglish playing for more than the Parish says Captain Kelley Fay

Eglish will face off with familiar opponents in the shape of Ballycran in Saturday’s NWP Recycling Ulster Senior B Final at the Morgan Athletic Grounds in Armagh but Eglish captain Kelly Fay believes that victory will provide pride to the county and not just the parish.

‘ Ballycran play more competitive in Down and the Down Championship is quite strong. Unfortunately camogie in Tyrone is a bit weaker but hopefully we can build and Eglish can show that we are trying to develop the game of camogie in the county. We have a strong history in Eglish but that doesn’t count for anything come Saturday’.

Whilst Eglish have a strong history the times have changed as this is a first final for many of the players and this is something for Kelly and her teammates to look forward

‘It is a first Ulster Final for the majority of the team. It’s been a long time since we have been in a game on this kind of stage. We are excited, there are nerves also but for the most part we are all excited. We are as confident as you can be going into an Ulster Final against a team that on paper is supposed to be stronger than us. Ballycran beat us last year by three points in the Semi-Final in Eglish and it was tough to take but they are a good physical team’. We’ll give it our best shot as we have been training and working hard and all we can do now is hopefully produce the goods’
