Mullaghbawn eager to celebrate landmark in style

Mullaghbawn enter their first Ulster Championship with more than an Armagh Junior title to celebrate in 2012 with this being their 25 Year Anniversary with the Camogie Club founded in 1987. Club captain Pauline Faughey believes that some of the clubs older players are finally getting the recognition they deserve for those efforts as they built a club in Mullaghbawn

‘This is the first time we have been in an Ulster competition so this is massive for us as a club as it its is in our 25 ^th Year. We’ve a lot of girls who have been playing along time with no real recognition, never played for their county and played 20 years for the club and it’s the biggest game of their life so it means an awful lot to the girls who have put in a lot over those years. Hopefully we will get the just rewards for those girls’

On Sunday Mullaghbawn face Castleblayney in the NWP Recycling Bridie McMenamin Shield Final in Aughnamullen, Co. Monaghan having come through games with Na Magha of Derry and Mayobridge of Down and are fully focused on the game according to team manager Pauline McKinley

‘ We feel we’ve prepared well and we’ve had tough games against Mayobridge and Na Magha and the girls have put in the work and hopefully we’ll get the right result in the Ulster Final. We feel this will be great for the development of our club as we want to progress and we have to start somewhere. We are not making anything light of this and we are putting our heart and soul into this. We’ve the whole club and many more supporting us’.
