JJ Doyle coming to Ulster for Coaching Legacy Programme

This weekend sees the beginning of Ulster Camogie’ s Legacy Coach Development programme in association with Sport Northern Ireland. The programme is based at developing coaches capable of delivering a quality environment for development and county squads in all nine counties of Ulster.
The programme includes 12 current development squad coaches from Derry, Down, Armagh, Antrim, Tyrone and Cavan. The coaches are involved with a number of different squads from U14-U18. These quality coaches include Catherine Mc Gourty (Down), Noreen Keown (Down), Anne Costello (Down), Paul Boyle (Down), Siobhan Poulter (Antrim), Sean Paul Mc Killop (Antrim), Peter Doherty (Tyrone), Micheal Murphy (Armagh), Jason Cahill (Armagh), John Kearney (Cavan), John O Dwyer (Derry) and Padraig Groogan (Derry). The programme will take place over 4 weekends between now and March beginning on Friday evenings with the coaches going through a mix of practical and theory sessions until Saturday evening. Gortin Activity Centre and GAA Grounds in Co. Tyrone.

As part of the first weekend the coach’s will get 3 sessions with Wexford Senior Camogie & U21 Manager JJ Doyle as well as a number of other workshops. JJ will deliver a session on Developing Attacking play on Friday night and a session on Winning Primary Possession on the Saturday as well as a presentation on his experiences and career on Saturday morning. As well as these sessions the group will go through sessions on Planning for a Season with Roger Keenan of Ulster GAA and Personal Career Reflections and Practical Strength & Conditioning sessions with Ross Corbett of Ulster Camogie.

The weekend ends with JJ taking a practical workshop on Winning Primary Possession & Breaking Ball for all the camogie and hurling coaches of Ulster to attend from 2.30-4.30pm in Gortin GAA Club, Saturday 26th October
