Official Launch of the AIB Camogie All-Ireland Club Championships in Ulster 2014

This week the Ulster Council continue to promote integration when all codes came together in the Tyrone GAA Centre in Garvaghey for the Official Launch of the 2014 Ulster Club Championship. We had all nine Camogie clubs who are still in the Ulster Camogie Club Championship represented.

Ulster Camogie Child Protection Officer Kathleen Woods praised the success of Ulster Camogie this year at national level with Down winning the Junior All Ireland title and the county Development Squads doing so well in national  blitzes. Kathleen stressed the importance of club camogie in Ulster and how the standard is improving each year. Finally none of this would be possible without our sponsors NWP Recycling who have been so generous to Ulster Camogie and we were delighted Aoife Woods from NWP Recycling could join us for the event.

In all competitions except the Intermediate Championship we have our finalists in place. On Sunday the 19th October we have the Junior Championship Finals with Newbridge taking on Lackin in the Junior Final while Clontibret lock horns with Laragh in the Bridie McMenamin Shield Final. The following weekend on Sunday 26th October Loughgiel will clash with Eoghan Rua in the Senior Final but with the Intermediate Championship Final positions still up for grabs we have Eglish taking on Madden this weekend and a last Semi-Final round-robin game between Eglish and Clonduff on Saturday the 18th of October.
