Another playing year is here again already and many teams will now be back in full flow with pre-season training. 2014 was a successful year in Ulster for Derry at Senior level and also at Under 14 & 16 but this year we are sure a number of counties will be looking to avenge last years defeats. At under age Cavan were very successful in the Under 14 & 16 Shield and I have no doubt these teams will be fighting to retain their crown. The dark horse over the last couple of years has been Donegal, in 2014 they achieved a significant milestone in winning their first Ulster competition when they won Section D at Under 14. This year Donegal are participating at Under 14, 16 and 18!! Finally the success story of 2014 was the Down camog’s taking the All Ireland Junior title and many will be watching this year to see how they adapt to Intermediate status. Good luck to all teams in what will hopefully be another fantastic year for Ulster camogie.
