Empowering Female Leaders Conference 2018
The conference aims to encourage females to strive to become leaders in their field.
A series of workshops and keynote speakers will be delivered by influential female leaders from throughout Ireland, including:

A minute with Maire Thompson
Ms Thompson actively encourages students from disadvantaged and minority backgrounds to attend Malone College, transforming it into the most culturally diverse school in N.I.
Occupation: Malone College Principal
Greatest Achievement: Developing the Rainbow Project to help provide support to gay and pregnant teenagers, and other pupils who have experienced difficulties beyond the usual challenge of teenage life
Proudest Moment: Awarded Headteacher of the Year at the prestigious 2017 Pearson Teaching Awards

A minute with Dr Deirdre Brennan
Dr Brennan is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and the recipient of a Distinguished Teaching Award for excellence in teaching and a fellowship in academic enterprise for her innovation and enterprise using sport.
Occupation: Professor of Physical Education at Ulster University
Greatest Achievement: Founded the multi-award winning Sports Outreach unit at Ulster University which is designed to widen access to sport young people in areas of greatest disadvantage.
Proudest Moment: Deirdre’s programme ‘eHoops’ was shortlisted as Best New Project by Beyond Sport in 2014, this programme targeted those not in education, employment or training.

A minute with Tina Hannon
Hannon is an exceptional athlete, who excels in the sport of Camogie. Hannon transferred from Naomh Bríd (Offaly) to Slaughtneil last April, eight weeks earlier the Derry club had become only the second team from Ulster to win the AIB All-Ireland Senior Club Championship.
Occupation: Nurse Manager
Greatest Achievement: Won back to back All Ireland titles with Offaly senior camogie team in 2009 and 2010
